In April we celebrate Earth Day. The message
behind Earth Day is to look at how we use and protect our
planet and the environment. From this idea, the green
initiative has emerged and become a part of our everyday
lives. We are encouraged to recycle more effectively,
operate more efficiently and become more conscientious of how
we impact our environment.
Over the past few years we’ve noticed related
changes in the insurance industry as it strives to adopt
effective, valid and worthwhile green measures.
For example:
Paperless or Bust! Several of our carriers
have begun to actively move the paperless theory forward by
going 100% paperless with policies and endorsements. The
simple “click and send” option for the electronic transfer of
policy documents has been a huge success with cost, time and
environmental savings for all.
Green Coverage Option! We are also excited
by the opportunity to offer a new coverage option for
green-rated product improvements through our carrier partner,
GuideOne Insurance. With a GuideOne package policy, we
can offer an optional Green Upgrade endorsement which provides
green upgrades for specifically defined building and personal
property in the event of a direct physical loss to covered
property.
