    Auto Safety

We are frequently reminded of the importance of having an emergency road side kit in our private passenger vehicles. Have you taken the time to consider the importance of such a kit in your church vehicle? It is a simple solution to help deal with unforeseen travel emergencies.

Items to consider:
  • Plastic bin with lid
  • A file with church contact information, emergency numbers, insurance paperwork, etc
  • Toilet paper and paper towels
  • Candle and match
  • Blankets
  • Trail mix or energy bars
  • Bottled water
  • Flashlight and batteries
  • Jumper cables
  • First aid supplies
This may be an excellent project for a volunteer or youth group. Prepare a couple of bins and store them at the church office. When a pre-approved church driver picks up the keys for the vehicle, they can grab a bin and take it with them on their trip. When the vehicle and bin are safely returned to the church, simply inspect, restock and store the bin for the next time.
